To build a healthy, safe, and inclusive King County District 9 where working families, rural and suburban communities, and small businesses thrive. We are in this together – starting with a plan for COVID-19 recovery – and building opportunity and strong communities for every South and Southeast King County neighbor.

RECOVERY. OPPORTUNITY. COMMUNITY.

In our district, and across King County, no one should be left behind. Working together, supporting the vulnerable, and putting a focus on equity and opportunity is a win-win that will put our communities, families, and small businesses ahead.

As a refugee and new immigrant to this country, I learned the inspiring power of the American Dream. But this path is out of reach for too many. That’s why my priorities for the King County Council are based on principles that will restore a path to prosperity, health, safety, and quality of life for all.

Developing a comprehensive COVID-19 recovery plan that supports small businesses, essential workers, working parents, and all who have struggled to make ends meet during the pandemic.

Delivering equitable investments in transit and transportation in South King County that better connects communities and working families to education, economic opportunity, and each other.

Maintaining and building affordable housing, and providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based services to effectively reduce homelessness and support unsheltered neighbors.

Ensuring a foundation for truly safe and healthy communities – addressing injustice head-on, protecting and expanding access to rights and care, and improving access to clean air and water for every resident.

Inclusion and equity for vulnerable and historically marginalized communities, including veterans, seniors, LGBQTIA+ communities, and communities of color.

“I want to make sure our neighborhoods are safe and we have an inclusive region, where everyone can share in our region’s prosperity.”
